So I wrote a review a few days ago - the problem then was that the phone hadnt been received. So after a few phone calls (emails didnt get answer) spoke to someone who was pretty helpful - I will name them if/when it gets sorted (praise!)
The customer service rep went and dug out my phone, had it scanned and made me an offer, ever so slightly less but I knew that was to be expected and to be fair it wasnt enough to even complain.
After a call back I've received written confirmation that the money should be in my account by end of today.
Now we wait with baited breath. Fortunately the partner works for the bank so we'll be able to see if it goes in.
I will update if/when I get the money. I'm really really hoping that I can give some praise on this one.
