very very unhappy

After scheduling a day off work, waiting in all day I was told, when the washing machine hadn't arrived within the 0700 - 1900 window, that it was out of stock. This was being delivered directly from the manufacturers and the call handler was surprised that they hadn't contacted me directly. I was told there was a 4 - 6 weeks wait for delivery. I cancelled my order and asked for a refund. I was informed that this would take 3 - 5 days to be available in my account.
problems :
1 - no washer
2 - wasted day spent on tenterhooks watching for the delivery truck
3 - poor communications
4 - no washer
5- unable to purchase a washer until the money is back in my account
solutions :
1 - instant refund, just the same as I managed an instant payment
2 - apology. always helps
3 - Never buy anything from Currys again, who appear to be going same way as Comet.
