It's always painful to find a nice and affordable place to stay especially when you travel alone and have no idea abou the place you're going to visit...I used Airbnb several times around different US cities and they all turned out to be great. You can always learn a lot local info from the hosts, and the check in/out time can be much more flexible than a hotel. Also, almost all of them provide free wifi connection, consider the $10+ internet fee charged by so many hotels... And you just cannot say no to a chance to meet new friends! While it may take some time to contact all the details with different hosts, it definitely worth it!
