I bought the pass online but still had to wait an hour to get the actual pass. They should have had more staff processing the passes (there were plenty of other staff doing nothing, eg in the other areas to book day trips etc, but there were no customers there). I even had to ask the staff to get a move on because there was a massive queue and two of them were showing off the earrings one had just bought, gasbagging away! The other staff member was very efficient though.
The New York pass was definitely great value but it's a shame it took so long to get it in person. Especially when you get a 3 day pass and it takes a couple of hours to get there and line up to get the pass.
