We used the pass August 2012. Buying the tickets was painful, the girl was slow (there was a long line of people waiting behind us), she didn't explain the product well and wandered off a couple times (we had no idea what she was doing, but then again, my best guess is she didn't either).
The ticket for the tour bus and hop on/off bus is a piece of paper (the actual card is only for entry into places). For the tour bus you need to exchange your ticket (which looks like a receipt) at Madame Tussaud's before going to the bus stop. With the hop on/off bus, you have to buy your pass on the day you intend to start using it otherwise you have to return to the ticket office on another day and exchange yet another paper voucher for your bus ticket (this is particularly relevant with the 7 day pass).
To get good value for money, plan ahead. Try an be realistic as to what you can get done in a day. The opening hours at the actual venues are not always the same as promoted so it is best to check.
The cruise around the Islands was good.
We did get reasonable value for money from our pass, however the ticket buying process and the lack of information about the buses and their separate ticket system was disappoint and frustrating. Unfortunately, as we believed our card was our bus ticket, we missed out on the bus tour - hopefully, this review will help you avoid that.
