I ordered a Nikon camera from valuebasket under the belief that they had UK stock and the delivery would be as quick as they have stated. We are past the 3-5 working days promised for dispatch and the item is apparently still being processed. The company has so far spun me a web of lies with regards to the status of my order. I paid for the camera as a present for a family member and according to the delivery time, it would arrive well in time for the family gathering. Here I am, a day or so away from party time and the camera is still awaiting packaging and dispatch. Several emails and a few phonecalls has not done anything to clarify when the item will even be processed. One day I'm told the item has been sent and will arrive in a day or two. The next time I contact them, I'm told the item is expected to be be dispatched early next week.
I have requested cancellation and a full refund. According to what I have read on this site, the company has no registration in the UK despite having an address in Luton. This should serve as a warning to anyone thinking of using the company to save a few quid as I originally did.
I now have to go to my family gathering without the present and unable to buy another until I'm refunded.
Be very wary and think extremely carefully before you risk giving these people your money. Consider paying a little extra for a product you can register in Europe and will guarantee to receive within a specified time frame. I am out of pocket for now, angry that I have been lied to and sad I will have to let down a family member. I would be a little more understanding if valuebasket were a bit more upfront with the truth.
Be careful people.
