The door we repalced was a painted wooden thing with half glass Georgian panel. It was a good quality door but was very susceptable to weather and often would swell and stick in the frame. This meant it was "shoulders to the pumps" to open it and risk knocking the front of the house down slamming it shut.
The Yale composite door is the same size in any weather. It's always easy to operate and the high security aspect is great for peace of mind. It's one of the best home improvments we have ever made and I must add, really excellent value for money.
