We’re back! Just wanted to tell you what a fantastic trip we had and how much I appreciated your recommendations and organisation of our flights and the Sydney leg of the trip. The Great Exhibition Hotel in Sydney was a gem. Like an old fashioned English pub, it had so much character and a terrific bistro where we ate 2 nights. Its location couldn’t have been better – very quiet and just opposite Central Station so really easy to get down into Circular Quay.
It didn’t have WIFI which was a bit of a nuisance, but I wandered down the road to BOUNCE, a backpacker’s hotel, and they gave me 2 separate hours of internet time, didn’t charge, and even rang my friends in Canberra free for me! Everyone in Sydney was just so friendly, chatty and helpful!
The deal you did for the hotel,Captain Cook cruise and Harbour Bridge Climb was excellent value.
The Bridge Climb was absolutely amazing! You were absolutely right - Twilight was the perfect time to do it – walking up in the sunny afternoon, early evening, then being on top of the bridge when the sun set and staying up there to see all of Sydney lighting up. Totally mind-blowing! I also booked tickets for La Boheme at the Opera House to finish our trip in style – wonderful!
Our first week in KL was magical. We were staying with my son who’s been out there since last August and he took us everywhere. Fabulous city and the 2 days we had in Penang were brilliant. Chinese New Year so millions of lanterns, firecrackers exploding for days, Lion dances in the hotel and the bars, and most amazing visit to Kek Lok Si, the biggest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. The Traders Hotel, which I had booked, and you recommended was fantastic! The Prime Minister of Malaysia was staying there too! So plush, very friendly and because we had a suite of rooms for the 3 of us we had access to the Traders Lounge. You said it was a good deal! We ate and drank to our hearts’ content each evening! Good to stay in Georgetown, and also have hotel shuttle bus over to their sister hotel in Batu Ferringhi, where I went parascending with my son - another first!
Malaysian Airlines were a great airline to fly with - very courteous, helpful, good food and a chance to see all the latest films!
I am so grateful for your really helpful and friendly advice and organisation from the moment you contacted me in January till we went i early February. Thank you so much - I've told everyone to go straight to Travel Nation if they want help and not bother with any other travel sites on the internet.
