I received confirmation of my order immediately, which was fine, but with no indication/estimate of dispatch. When I phoned a few days later (which incurs costs, there wasn't a free phone number) I was told that no indication/estimate of dispatch could be given to me whatsoever, despite the website being full of claims of next day delivery. This is somewhat problematic for people in full time work to arrange somebody to be at home, and though I appreciate not to book workers in to install the devices any good work person is likely to require a couple of weeks notice at least. Any idea would have been helpful (weeks/days/months?). I received notification 24 hours previous to delivery (I think in total this took 10 days). My problem here therefore is with communication.
We ordered a basin and toilet. The toilet looks lovely, but the flush is absolutely awful, and therefore does not operate as described - we have no working toilet. As it is in situ and now used I am not in a position to return it. I am most likely going to have to spend further money to fix the problem. Our plumber is entirely established and experienced, and having reviewed the installation documentation it appears that the toilet has been installed correctly, the inner flush mechanism is just useless. The model is the Winchester wc, which we chose partly because of the good reviews. Nobody mentioned the flush.
I shall never use Victorian plumbing again.
