Need to check their stock levels

Ordered a headset which on the site was showing in stock, expected shipping day came and went with no notification. Looked at web-site and saw item was out of stock - easy to guess what had happened - they never had any. Two days after expected delivery date and finally get an e-mail asking me to call them. So I called and was told that there was none left and they weren't expecting any so will issue a refund. I feel they could've been more on the ball and identified this much sooner saving me a week without a much needed headset which I've sourced elsewhere.

Never signed up to them and received an unsolicited e-mail, they claim I signed up for e-mail via a 3rd party - I NEVER give permission for this and have always tracked down any company responsible for selling details on and reporting them to the ICO. Unsubscribed via their link and sent a request to them to delete my details and disclose how they were obtained. Definitely wouldn't ever buy via anyone that uses 3rd party e-mail lists, such a bad practice hardly ever done by any reputable company.

Further to their response the e-mail I received states:
"This email is sent to you because you registered to receive advertising from a 3rd party" Sounds like a 3rd party mailing list to me.

Good Evening,

Wowcher do not use 3rd party mailing lists. We are part of the DMGT group which includes the Daily Mail. When customers register with any of the sites owned by our parent company they will be signed up to our mailing list unless they tick to opt out of future mailings from shared services.

If you email with TRUST in the subject we will be able to inform you of when you signed up and through which medium. We will also be able to unsubscribe you.

Kind Regards
