We can appreciate your concerns regarding the sending of passwords via email but please be advised that any alternate method (i.e. reset links/randomly generated passwords etc.) could also be intercepted in the same way, resulting in unauthorised access of your account. The best way to ensure your own security in this instance - as you have already aluded to - is to use seperate passwords for different online accounts.
