We've used dabs.com as our preferred business supplier since 2001, and kept with them through the BT takeover when our business account was moved to http://www.businessdirect.bt.com/.
In 2013 we started to notice problems. Goods "in stock" when ordered took far too long to arrive and on checking they were listed as "on order". Then we had a few incidents where boxes arrived opened and items were missing. That could have been the courier and we gave the benefit of the doubt. But now the glowing confidence I had that when we needed something in a hurry, dabs would not let us down - that confidence is gone.
The last straw is the stupid delivery charges. We needed a high speed SDXC card. The 3 day delivery charge is £3.56, for a tiny little SD card. Kikatek supply the same card for the same price with free delivery. So do many others.
I gently enquired from dabs.com support why the prices are now so high and I received rude and unhelpful responses.
Three stars would be generous, but they have definitely lost their Mojo, for which they lose another star. They're not cheap enough to compete without the extra customer service they used to offer.
Until they get their act back together we're looking for another supplier.
Ordered a sandisk micro SDHC card from MyMemory.com. Arrived without packaging. Possibly fake. Using it halved my battery life in my phone, and it kept ejecting itself.
Got a return no and sent it back but nothing happened. After contact they said I hadn't sent it registered post (I can't get to a post office) and so it was lost in the post.
When I disputed this, they said wait a while to see if it turns up, so I waited 2 weeks, went to log in again and they've deleted my account.
Stuff being "lost" has happened to me before with them and a few of people I know. One possibility is that anything which arrives without registered post could go into someone's pocket in the depot. Either that or the postal system in Jersey is incredibly unreliable.
