Ordered a BBQ online, the product was showing as being "in stock" and "available for immediate dispatch". I received a phone call the following day apologising that the product was in fact not in stock and delivery is not expected for another 4 weeks at least. They cancelled my order immediately, but I now have to wait 7 days for the money to become available on my card again. I do not understand how this stock discrepancy can happen with modern technology.
The call centre staff were pleasant and sympathised, but given the inconvenience, sorry doesn't cut it.
