I bought a bike computer (Bryton Rider 40) from Merlin Cycles and live in Australia.
I discussed what would happen in a warranty situation with them up front. They informed me that I would have to return it to them and they would handle the warranty side.
Unfortunately the power button failed on the unit I was given and a return was required. True to form, they turned it around and a brand new computer was sent to me.
The things of note. They didn't inform me they had received it. I happened to email basically right when they had received it. I expect I would have been notified when the replacement unit was sent. (That happened)
The return cost me $18 AUD. If I only have to return this once, this still works out cheap compared to buying locally.
Merlin picked up the tab for the return postage. *thumbs up*
The only thing I'd like to see would be the ability to demonstrate a faulty product via say a Youtube video to save the postage. I'd even love to post a "smash the faulty item" video. :-)
I'm assuming this is not realistic due to manufacturers warranty requirements sadly. Smash videos would be awesome.
