I have found that if you go direct to P&O they now want to charge you a £4 surcharge for the pleasure of taking money from your card(s). I prefer to use a debit card rather than credit but the surcharge still applies. Aferry only charges £1 for this same service and whilst I could argue that you are already paying for the ferry price and should not have to be penalised for paying with a card - and HOW ELSE do you pay when booking online? - at least I can save £3 towards the exhorbitant price of a cup of tea on the boat!
