I booked a hotel and noticed when payment went through that it was twice what I'd expected. I'm not a fool & I checked the total before I booked, but turned out the amount shown was per night, and not the total. If the total was shown anywhere it was certainly not obvious. Also beware the cancel booking feature as it will cancel non-refundable bookings without warning you & your money will be entirely lost. Hotels Direct did agree to refund the sum but it took a good few emails and phone calls to achieve it, as the person who picked up the complaint first did not deal with it at all.
So, good service in the end, and i have to say I've made other bookings with no problems
