PRC Direct

Quick delivery, shame about the quality and customer service...

So we decided to buy a new Samsung 43 inch 3D TV, we went shopping and decided on the model we wanted and went home to research prices. PRC Direct's price was good, easy to order and pay, and having ordered late on a Sunday evening, was delighted with delivery the following Wednesday and no delivery charge either. Thursday evening we decided to put our new TV on the wall, unpacked it and started to get everything ready to put it up when we noticed a significant dent in the rear casing of the TV. It was late so I telephone customer services the following day. I spoke to <private data removed>. I said that the TV was fine, no obvious signs of issues with the picture or 3D just the dent in the TV, he asked for photos which were taken and sent across. I suggested that I would be happy for a small refund to cover this damage rather than return the TV. He offered a miserly £20. He told me that if you order online you got to expect this sort of thing. I reminded him I'd paid a fair price for a brand new TV not a damaged one. Anyway he refused any other kind of offer and was particularly unhelpful, kept reminding me that this sort of thing has to be expected when you order online. So given his uncooperative nature and unwillingness to help, I suggested he arrange for his TV to be collected and refund my money. I had to wait in the entire following day for the TV to be collected which was collected at 4.45pm, I temp so this was a complete loss of pay for a day for me. Totally unnecessary seeing as I was only asking for a £50 refund to keep the damaged item. Then I had to wait a further 3 days for them to confirm the refund was processed and a further 5 days for the refund to hit my account. So then it gets real interesting, the following day from posting my original review on here I get a phone call from another person in customer services expressing their concern at my review and asking what happened, I explained. He said as a gesture of goodwill he would send a gold HDMI cable and some high street vouchers that day for delivery the following day by courier, all at no cost to me, PROVIDED I removed my review. I agreed to this, so I removed my review and awaited the package, no package arrived, he'd provided his details so I called him, he gave me a tracking number which said it was ready for delivery that day that was over 2 weeks ago, still no package!! Unbelievable.. so here I am writing my review again, use this company at your peril, if all goes well, then you'll be happy, if not, good luck with their customer service - its non existent.
