When we ordered the items we should have been told that the poles were not in stock and there would be a delay as we needed them urgent so we canceled the order

Sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service, our stock levels change on a daily basis, and some products are replenished once a week. Your order was placed on a Friday afternoon and refunded on the 4th working day, as you were unable to wait for the any longer, as this delivery would have taken place on the 6th working day.
