Order rejected, could not re-order - Very took 10 days to sort it out. Rude staff hangup

I can't believe this company is still trading. Really awful customer service.

> I ordered an item on a Friday and was given a delivery date of the flowing Thursday.

> Two days later I happen to check and notice the order is in rejected status with no reason why.

> I call up the expensive 0844 number and I'm made to wait 18 minutes while they look into the problem. Then I'm told their is a system problem and they hang up on me!

> I send an email and get a reply that they will reply within 12 working hours. Three days later, still no reply, so I call them but after 30 seconds they hang up. I call again and I'm put on hold for 15 minutes, this time I hang up.

> I send another email asking for an update. Two days later I'm told a specialist will call within 3 days but 4 days later still no call.

> Day 9 - I receive an email saying Very tried but failed to contact me (strange as they are contacting me ok now ). They ask me to email a shopdirect email address and I will be contacted within 3 days.

> Day 10 I get a reply from this shopdirect team who need to take payment again from my credit card. I go along with this thinking I will claim from the credit card company if this payment goes through twice.

The shopdirect team then tell me my order will be shipped within 3 days.

> Day 11 - I look on line and see my order is due for delivery on January 17. That will be 49 days since I placed my order !

I learned a lesson here. Never ever buy from Very again, no matter how good their prices seem to be they just don't care about their customers.

[external reference] has banned them due the problems experience by members. This alone should be enough to keep you away from buying at Simply Electronics Ltd.

My experience of buying a camera from Simply Electronics was, at first, good. Until it came to claim on the warranty. After multiple emails and expensive 0844 calls, I got nowhere. Constant delay tactics, "the manufacturer is reviewing the fault", "it will be sent in the next few days", "it's being dispatched today". It took 11 weeks to get my camera back and the fault was still there.

I don't think Simply Electronics are trying to rip people off. I feel they are just incompetent and when pushed to give answers they have no option but to makeup a lie to get you off the phone. The customer support people are friendly but it seems that behind them the company is lacking.

Orders arrived within 3 days, great quality and prices are lower than most

Had five orders with CPC so far. All arrived within 3 days and with free delivery.

Prices I paid were lower than the same products on ebay!

Can't fault them so far. All good.
