Arrived at Newcastle Airport on the afternoon of the 18th. Located what was the Avis/Budget desk inside the airport. Notice on the boarded up desk was "Go to the International Arrivals entrance and to the car park opposite to locate the temporary desk". So I followed the instructions back out into a wind/snow swept car park. Found no temporary desk/office. Made my way back into the airport where I encountered an airport employee who pointed me to the right of the arrivals door way back to a set of porto cabins. Apart from that frustrating, freezing cold 15 minutes everything seemed to go OK. Avis/Budget had my booking on their records. Vehicle was what I was expecting together with the rates stated online. I'm surprised that no member of the Avis/Budget staff took me for a "walk around" the car at either the pick up or drop off just to confirm status of vehicle. I suppose that's a British or North East thing! Overall well satisfied at the moment.
