We bought a gas oven from Appliance World and paid for installation. On the day the installation was due to happen, we received a phone call from an Appliance World representative saying that they couldn’t do the installation as the installer was seriously ill, fair enough, and they refunded the installation cost. We had literally put down the phone from speaking to Appliance World and we received a call from the installer to say that he had finished a job early and would be with there in 30 minutes! I assumed the earlier call was a mistake, as the installer was clearly in rude health. After 2 hours waiting in and no sign of the installer, I called him back and was advised that the installation had been cancelled (nice of him to call me back) and that it should never have been booked, as the installer didn’t do gas oven installation! Basically the first call was a bare faced lie.
We were therefore put to the inconvenience of having to find another installer at short notice, which we did, they installed the oven, only to find it was faulty and we incurred extra installations costs while the installer tried to rectify the problem, which ne was unable to do so! While Appliance World eventually refunded the additional installation cost, it has taken over a month to resolve the issue and we were left with no working oven from early December until early January, not a nice position to be in over Christmas.
I ordered a pan from them on the 25 March , it never arrived, have chased my order three times and when they have eventually bother to reponded, it has always been the same respone expect delivery ' next week'. There is nothing pro-active about their customer service.
I requested the cancellation of my order last week and I have still not recieved any refund and have been forced to raised a claim/dispute with PayPal.
AVOID THIS COMPANY OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY!

Initial query regarding a delayed transaction was responded to in a blasé fashion. Subsequent correspondence from the supposed 'customer service' team become more patronising and unhelpful with each contact. Transfer still not completed.
