I booked with this company even though I could have found cheaper mainly because they advertised a "Pick up with car" service at Terminal 4 Heathrow. After an overnight flight the last thing I wanted was to be waiting for my hire car to arrive. On arrival I called the contact number to be told to catch a bus from the airport to the Skyline hotel about 7 miles away on the other side of the airport). Not even a courtesy bus but a public transport bus. After 30 mins waiting I got a cab (20 pounds)
On arrival the car I booked (VW Passat) was not available and I was given a Jetta, a smaller car but no refund.
I was then informed that I had to deposit a substantial sum (1200 pounds) as an insurance guarantee, or take out "optional" additional cover at 9 pound a day (another 90 quid). On looking at my credit card statement later the website that I booked through charged 24 pounds "deposit" which was not deducted from the total by the hire company. Finally I was told to return the car with approx. 1/2 tank of fuel which I did, and then noticed on the final bill I was charged 30 pounds additional fuel. I was then told that I should have brought the car back empty. They would not refund the fuel charge, and told me to email head office. All in all I will never use Airport rentals again and will do whatever I can to publicize my experience as widely as possible. In short this company is a scam, and rips you off in as many ways as possible. If I were still living in the UK I would have taken them to the Authorities for unfair trading under the Consumer Protection Act due to their misleading commercial practices
