they took my order even though they didn't have the stock

ordered pair of golf shoes in size 7 , then 2 days later they tell me that they don't have them in size 7 , very bad system, would not attempt to buy from again as don't trust there system

Hi Nigel,

Whilst I completely understand your frustration, I would welcome your ideas on what systems we are lacking. Unfortunately, like most SME's we are reliant on employing Human Beings and as such they can be fallible. The item in question would not have been available for sale if we did not think that it was present in the warehouse. As soon as an item's stock depletes to zero then that item is no longer available for sale. This would seem a logical approach, would it not? However if there's been a mis-pick at some point or even an incorrect delivery that was not detected at the time, then we will incur stock discrepancies. This does not amount to knowingly selling goods that we do not have, as your comments allude to. Unfortunately this is the practice of many of our competitor's, not ours; we fulfil over 98% of products ordered and we certainly don't want tarring with that brush. Our stock is live and as accurate as is humanly possible, not to say that we don’t invest time and money into improving our daily practices. As for the timescales involved, you placed your order on the evening of the 25th, we emailed you on the 26th informing you of the issue (having rung to no avail) and issued a full refund at 9.53am of the 27th, on receipt of your reply. Outside of having a zero tolerance to mistakes in the workplace I'm left slightly bemused as to what else we could've done on this occasion? As the top ranked retailer in our sector may I wish you the very best of British in finding an alternate supply source, perhaps one with a smaller payroll than ourselves.
