Excellent product but discriminatory delivery charge -why?

I received my Shackleton 'Discovery' whisky today and have to say that the product is absolutely cracking and, along with the book 'Shackleton's Whisky' will make a great present for my Dad's 75th birthday. I know that there are companies that insist on the discriminatory practice of charging extra to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland but when it was delivered by Royal Mail that really got the blood pressure up! The Royal Mail charges the same for all parts of the UK. And whisky too, a product of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland - hang your heads in shame! Thanks for this nicely packaged bottle of whisky but I really do look forward to receiving my refund of £5 for a blatantly unnecessary and. as I say, discriminatory 'extra charge' (as you describe it on your website). I know you'll do the right thing.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry if you feel the charge to be discriminatory. Our shipping charges are based on the cost of shipping our items. We do understand that Royal Mail charge the same prices throughout the UK, but we actually ship through Parcelforce.

When shipping to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Parcelforce charge a higher rate than for the rest of the UK. The package is actually handed over to Royal Mail for the final stage of delivery, as they are partnered with Parcelforce.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused, but cannot offer a refund for this. The 'extra charge' reflects the higher cost of shipping your order.
