During our trip to the UK, we had 2 flat tires in a 72 hour period. There were no spare tires in either car, so we had to call the # provided on the key ring.
The first time, they sent a driver to the house we were staying at and drove us to the Glasgow airport where Eurocar/National, quickly gave us a new car (had to wait as they ran it through the wash), but they were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to get us going very quickly. We got the car and we were on our way.
The second flat tire was a different story. It occurred on the side of the busy M6 (25 miles from Manchester). Again we called and after a UK safety truck came, the tow driver arrived (1 hour) we were told we could go to the Manchester airport to get a new car. Upon arrival at the manchester Airport, we were told there were no cars and that we would have to have a seat and wait 2-3 hours for a car. Sarah the BRANCH MANAGER refused to work with us on our issue and even questioned why we came here. She refused to give her last name and overall had a very unpleasant demeanor to myself an our overall situation. I did not find her very solution orientated or helpful in anyway. At that time we went right over to HERTZ and they gave us a car in 10 minutes without issue. I am a new Emerald club member to National, and this was not a good introduction to the National "family" of companies.
