Although this wasn't the first time that I've transferred money overseas, it always seems to present a unique challenge, as with most things in Africa. They just 'do' things differently there and sometimes, it seems they even think differently - must be the sun! What caused my African friend to give me an incorrect bank a/c no. remains a mystery and a source of embarrassment to me, as I inadvertently gave the wrong no. to Globalwebpay, who quickly highlighted the mistake and were most polite and accommodating in the process which was eventually successful.
Next time should be a lot easier for us all. I won't be going anywhere else. Well done!
