I ordered half of my bathroom from Better Bathrooms and half from a competitor. The competitor beat Better Bathrooms on every count except their website - the Better Bathrooms site is excellent and has all the information you could need regarding dimensions etc. From there, it went downhill. I placed my order two weeks in advance of my desired delivery date, and after hearing nothing for three days and with the online order tracker showing "being processed" I used Live Chat to contact the company. I quickly got an answer online and was told an item was out of stock (I would have preferred an email telling me this immediately as the competitor did). I consulted my other half and went back onto Live Chat and changed an item which was done, and I got a call from a customer service assistant to pay the extra, all of which went well. I arranged delivery for the following Wednesday and was assured that this would take place and I would be contacted if this would not be the case. Having had some experience of bathroom delivery before, I spent most of the following Tuesday chasing Better Bathrooms as my order still didn't show as having been dispatched. The Live Chat no longer worked, I could not get through on the phone, my email went unanswered. Eventually I got through on the phone and was - very abruptly - told that my order would be picked on Wednesday but not delivered. Still no proactive contact from the company. The following day I used Live Chat to check my delivery status and this time got an apology, was "upgraded" to a 48 hour delivery, promised delivery on Friday and got an email confirming this. Much better. The delivery arrived on the day expected, the online order tracker showed the progress of the pallet all the way to my door and the delivery driver was helpful and polite. The competitor did better though, providing a 2 man team and delivering to a room of my choice. Better Bathrooms charge £5 more and only drop at the end of the drive. Nothing appears damaged or missing, and quality seems reasonable for the price. But customer service is terrible - I have worked as a manager in Showroom retail and would NEVER accept such poor service from any of my staff, and that was ten years ago. In these days of Amazon (one click and your goods arrive, postage is usually free and they sort problems immediately), we cannot accept such a poor level of service. Be more proactive, employ more service staff, avoid premium rate customer service phone numbers and you may start to get repeat business. As is, I won't use Better Bathrooms again and will advise others to shop elsewhere.
I ordered half of my bathroom from Victoria Plumb and half from one of their competitors. Victoria Plumb wins hands down on experience from ordering to delivery. Ordering is easy va the website, but they do not have all of the information the other company did on their website, e.g. dimensions of all products. Ordering was easy, but frustrated to find an item out of stock when I received my order summary. As this would delay my delivery I would have preferred this on the "basket" page. Cancelling the item was easy, but although promised a refund for the item it has not yet been processed after over a week, and I have been unable to reach the company by phone and they have not answered my email. So poor marks for customer service. Goods arrived on time, with a delivery slot given the night before. A two man team delivered the items to a location inside my house - again a big improvement on competitors who offer much worse delivery options for more money.
