I don't know how low DPD offers their contracts for, but to any business who uses them: it's a false economy (at least in terms of customer satisfaction). This is yet another in a long list of deliveries that has failed to arrive when promised. If I had known at the time of ordering that they were the couriers I'd have gone elsewhere. I paid 6 pounds for next day delivery on an order that weighed less than 4 ounces. For that price the retailer could easily use Royal Mail Special Delivery (which is exemplary), especially since RM give businesses a discounted rate on bulk mailings. Anyway, the parcel was shipped first thing on Monday morning, and was sent to a depot in Cornwall as opposed to Co. Down. So the delivery was pushed back to today and no surprise, it's now sitting in Birmingham, held until at least tomorrow. DPD thinks its adequate to just send a text saying there's been a delay, with no other explanation. I'd be amazed if it turns up tomorrow, I really would. They never replied to the contact form I sent through on the website either. I'm sure Ill get some template response here from some PR drone trying to save face and quoting information I can already see myself from the tracking info. I'm not interested in apologies, but a proactive resolution. My guess is the company isn't interested in public opinion since they clearly only consider the businesses hiring them to be their customers. To reiterate, this isn't an isolated incident and I'd never use this shoddy service by choice. Quite frankly I'd be happy to see the organisation go bankrupt since they're clearly unfit to operate in the modern marketplace.
