Placed an order late one Sunday. Over a week later, nothing had arrived and I realised that I had not had email dispatch confirmation although the funds had left my account.
I emailed customer services to explain and got a prompt reply saying the items were dispatched first class post the day after I ordered and to check at my Royal Mail sorting office. Well, I get a lot of parcels and not once has one been returned to the sorting office without a card through my door, but I checked and no it was not there.
I waited 5 more days and emailed Yankeedoodle again. Response was 'check at sorting office'. I checked again, nothing.
Emailed again the next day asking for delivery within 5 days or a refund, response 'check at sorting office'.
Today I emailed again, this time I was told that my order had been sent out a week later than I'd originally been told and by second class post so I should wait again and check at the sorting office. So responded to again ask for a refund or delivery with 4 days or I would complain to trading standards and approach my bank to recover my money.
Now, more than 2 weeks later I have a refund. Yankeedoodle are a complete waste of time. I gave been lied to, fobbed off and generally taken for a ride. Worst of all is Yankeedoodle's 100% satisfaction guarantee which seems to amount to telling customers to check at the sorting office for packages that were never sent. I am left feeling less than satisfied. Avoid at all costs.
Last week I ordered an item with next day delivery by DPD. I got time slot, text message updates, the works, and the package arrived bang on time.
This week, different item from a different company who obviously have not bought the same service from DPD. No timed delivery slot but I did get an email telling my parcel would be delivered on Tuesday. I knew I'd be out so I selected 'Deliver to neighbour' option knowing full well that I have neighbours that are in all day. That evening I find a calling card. I call the DPD number as the calling card reference is not recognised online, the driver I am told was "on paper" that day? I waited for 20 minutes to speak to someone to ask why my parcel had not been left with a neighbour as requested, only to be told that "the driver must have tried a neighbour that was not in"! I requested delivery the next day and gave the address of a neighbour that would definitely be in.
Today, Wednesday, I come home to find another calling card, no attempt made to deliver to the neighbour as I requested. I despair!
I have now asked for delivery tomorrow in a safe place and hope that the driver can follow these instructions.
Having found the item I wanted at the best price on Go Electrical, I bought it late on Sunday night. Monday I got a dispatch confirmation and text from the delivery company. Tuesday my purchase arrived, bang on time. Excellent communication throughout. What more could you want?
