My old Time desktop purchased in 2001 running XP on 512 mb Ram was like watching paint dry. Used diagnostic software which identified motherboard and
recommended two 1gb to replace the existing maximum two memory slots. Came almost by return of post. Took cover off box, like opening the Mummy's tomb, blew the dust out and replaced ram in a couple of minutes. It was fairly obvious with the guide provided. Re-booted, worked first time. Much better performance now.
