Sourcherry

Order came late, ignored emails, 11 days to arrive

I ordered a simple necklace for a birthday present a couple of weeks ago.

Although payment was taken immediately nothing happened to the order for over a week, and the birthday loomed closer and closer. It says on the website that most orders are sent within a couple of days, but as it was all hand-made sometimes it took longer, so I wasn't too worried yet.

I did send an email asking if the order was going to be sent soon (or indeed even if it was in process - all the online order status said was "awaiting availability" with no further explanation).

A couple of days later the order status changed to 'shipped' - I didn't receive a reply to my email but thought as long as it was sent that was ok. It was strange that they did not include a tracking code though as all items are sent via recorded delivery (supposedly) - which I paid £2.50 for.

Several days later and nothing has turned up yet, I've missed the birthday so will have to send it on if/when it eventually arrives. I've sent another query to sourcherry but aren't too hopeful that I'll receive a reply, let alone my order or any help.

I will update the review with any developments, however based on my experience so far I could not recommend sourcherry to anyone.

[Update] Item has arrived, 11 days after order. Have awarded a couple of stars as I at least received what I ordered now.

Hermes Europe

Lied about delivery, Hermes driver stole my laptop

I ordered a Chromebook from Amazon and was notified that it would be delivered by Hermes Europe.

Over the next couple of days I watched the tracking occasionally move on to the next step of the process, until a Saturday where it changed to 'Out for delivery'. Shortly after it changed to 'Delivered to Shed'.

Now this was a bit of a surprise to me, as I had been in all afternoon and we hadn't heard anyone or received a card through the door.

I went out and checked the shed - unless the delivery person had a lockpicking set there was no way it was left in the shed - it's secured by two large padlocks.

I scoured the shed, it's surroundings and the garden. No sign of a package or laptop. Checked with the neighbours and no joy there either.

Eventually got a refund from Amazon, they state the parcel is 'lost' - as it's marked as delivered you can only reasonably assume that the person trusted to deliver the laptop has stolen it.

I will avoid buying other expensive items from Amazon - it's easier and safer to click-and-collect from PC World (which I eventually did in this case).

I know you hear a lot of bad experiences with couriers, but my experience with Hermes has been appalling - they won't talk to the customer directly and their staff appear to be thieves. Avoid!

Zavvi

A no-nonsense reliable and dependable shopping experience everytime

50% of the items I've ordered from a certain auction site recently haven't arrived - I'm not sure if it's down to the post, the seller or the snow we recently had, but that isn't good statistics, and makes you mourn for the loss of the high street shop.

So it's a good thing that Zavvi are as dependable as ever - order online, and receive your items a couple of days later. The only observation I would make is that the two blurays were delivered via someone other than royal mail so they didn't arrive with the normal post (not that it really matters).

The offers are often great and I've not had a problem with them yet.
