The flowers were supposed to be a surprise for my daughter. It didn't matter what time they were delivered, but when I got a text at 9.16 saying they were on their way I assumed they would be delivered by mid afternoon, assuming they were not being driven from Edinburgh to Cambridge. I called my daughter at 3.30 but she said no flowers had arrived. They did arrive around 6, but the surprise was ruined. I think the tracking idea is really good, and your alerts are definitely a good idea, but the text should say the same as your email alert - that flowers being en route, even early in the morning, still means they may not be delivered for another 9 to 12 hours.
Your responses to my email, just repeating your policy and missing my point, were really irritating.
