Deliver to a neighbour?

I made an order for next day delivery and I got a message asking whether I would like the delivery to be made to my neighbour. I requested this and got confirmation.

I have arrived home to find a calling card to say that no one was available at home to sign for the parcel. Of course not, but there are over 50 house on my street and there is no explanation as to why it was not delivered to one of a number of places.

Surely if someone makes a next day delivery order, and there has even been contact with alternate arrangements you would expect to have the delivery. Now I can either wait until Monday for a 2nd delivery or drive over half an hour to the depot tomorrow and rush back to get to work on time.

Sort it out.

Hi Jake,

Thanks for getting in touch. Although you requested for your parcel to be delivered to neighbour, it's conceivable that our driver tried some of your neighbours but got no response. We tell our drivers that they don't necessarily need to deliver to the immediate next-door neighbour, but we also encourage them to make sure that when they do deliver to a neighbour, it's still within a reasonable distance of the original delivery address.

I see that you visited your local depot to collect your parcel - I hope you had a pleasant visit.

Please email socialmedia@dpd.co.uk if you need any assistance whatsoever.

Kind regards,
