Since informing them to cease my services in November 13, Chess have continued to bill me.
Chess acquired my phone/broadband service from another provider.
They have an appalling lack of communication with you unless 'you ring them'! You have to chase up everything. They say the right things on the phone but don't put into practice what they say or acknowledge your written communications. You are a very lucky person if they do reply.
(They don't delay at sending billing emails though!!)
I 'was' all poised to give Chess a positive review when first asked by a polite member of their team called Lynne at customer services. However, since leaving them for a unrelated reason I can't recommend the company at all.
I fortunately did get one important email reply from Lynne when I 'paid' my December bill in DISPUTE. Fortunately she confirmed my request had been received in November to cease my services with Chess and the completion date of the cease was on 2nd December. She also confirmed, any credits due would be on the next invoice.
Appallingly a month later I received another bill for another full month!!!!! No sign of any refund of credits from my overpayment in December, just more charges for January!!!
This prompted me to search for reviews of Chess online and boy did I read some horrors!!!!!!!!! - try reading all the negative reviews on here (followed by a flurry of gushing reviews - yeah right!) Andy Green has replied to some, saying the same old thing "This is not what we are about". THEN WHY ARE CUSTOMERS STILL REPORTING THESE ISSUES??
I also suggest reading the website Complaintsboard and MoneySavingExpert.
A lot of the negative comments have a similar ring to them about continuation of charges after cancelling a service.
If/when I get this resolved to my satisfaction, I will update my review accordingly.
