Having moved house recently we found ourselves having to buy four mattresses in short order. For a variety of pricing, availability and timing reasons we ended up ordering these four mattresses from four separate companies.
The first was ok - the big online retailer with a river like name. The other two (mattress specialists) both had problems, the second of which ( I won't name them here) were a customer service nightmare initially until finally getting resolved.
Our order from Purelybeds was a bit strange. Due to what we already had we wanted two difficult-to-find odd size items:
A 5'0" x 6'9" mattress and a 4'6" x 6'9" divan base.
Both odd sizes, both different. Thankfully our order was delivered correctly and much earlier than originally promised. Delivery was well notified and clarified with a clear two hour window (on a Saturday at no extra cost). Additionally we spoke to Mike, who I believe to be a business principal (e.g. owner) and hence the service was exemplary.
Happy to recommend and Purelybeds will be our first point of call when we have to order a mattress again.
NB This is a genuine review and I have no connection to any of the companies, other than customer.
Ordered a mattress from Mattressesworld/WorldStores five days ago. Mattress was supposedly in stock and could have been delivered sooner, but I opted for delivery today (Thursday 2 May 2013) as it was easier to be off work today.
Seems like as with many other people here I have wasted my day off. Like many of the others I did get an email two days ago allowing me to track my item. Like the others too, I haven't got the next email which would have confirmed deliver or a call or a text.
As with the rest of the commenters here when you ring customer service (and don't select new sales) you are informed that as the lines are very busy they are only accepting contact by their hard-to-follow-illogical web form. No reply yet of course.
Wish I had checked with this trustpilot page before proceeding. It does seem a little odd to say the least that there are many complaints, but along with those are many positive totally glowing 5 start reviews. All very brief and posted by one-off reviewers.
I'll no doubt get a response from them as have the others. Is the best bet to contact my card company now about this?
UPDATE 24 May 2013
We did receive the mattress on the date rescheduled for the next day they could make it; Tuesday 7 May. In addition I received £15 into my account. That was the figure I was initially promised, on stating I'd missed a days work for the original (missed) delivery day this was verbally upped to £20, still £15 was paid. I haven't got time to take this further for a fiver.
NB I've upped my rating from one star to two stars to reflect the delivery and attempt at compensation.
