It appears that I am not alone here, so I will be repeating a lot of what other people have said.
I worked from home today in order to receive a parcel that I had ordered online. DPD informed me via email that the delivery would arrive between 4pm and 5pm. I waited in and did not leave the house all day, and at 4.30pm I received an email instructing me that the courier had attempted to deliver the parcel but that there was no one there to receive the delivery and that a calling card had been left, however nobody has visited my house and no calling card has been left. The online tracker now reads that a delivery was attempted (not true) and that a calling card was left (not true).
As I need the parcel for this weekend I rang the customer support helpline (at a cost of 10p per minute) and spoke to someone there. I was told that the driver would be contacted and that my mobile number would be passed on to the driver to arrange redelivery today: it is now 6.40pm and still no phone call, so I can only assume this won't be fixed today.
What has annoyed me about this process has been the lies. Saying that a delivery was attempted is not true (as I was working from home) and also saying that a calling card was left is also not true (as there is no card).
I will be contacting the company from whom I ordered the parcel and request that they refrain from using DPD in the future. Judging by the reviews on TrustPilot I am one of many who have been let down by this outfit.
