Panamoz

Not "Too Good to be True"

A lot of these companies have a bad name and unfortunately I have experienced first hand some of the bad ones. I don't have anything bad to say about Panamoz. I ordered a £700 lens (nearer £1000 elsewhere) and tracked it from Hong Kong to my front door, all in a reasonable time frame.

A great idea that needs refinement

There is apparently some manipulation by some companies but the overly positive reviews tend to stand out like a sore thumb - perhaps TP needs to get more on top of the verification of reviewers.
Another thought is that the overall score can be calculated on years of reviews - some companies get worse some improve some change hands - perhaps the total score should be calculated on the last 12 months of scores. The older reviews remaining of course.
Overall a positive thing. I got stuck once trying to deal with Vistaprint and reviewing them on here meant they took an instant interest and someone actually got to grips with the essence of my complaint

A Bizarre Experience

2 stars because I can't work out whether the company is just totally inefficient or a con. I understood that I was getting a very good deal and thatI would have to wait 7 - 14 working days (some 3 weeks) I made my order and then read some of the reviews here and became more interested in the order and how it progressed. I ordered and there were 4 cameras in stock. after my order processed there were then 3 - that sounded simple. My payment went through some tortuous verification progress but after a few days my money was accepted (although the money had already been taken when I made the order days before). There was then some game of finding the stock and then a few days of checking it was all OK (what had been simple now sounds very complicated). Then the camera was placed ready for the courier to pick up. a couple of days passed and suddenly the camera was on backorder? I contacted the company and asked what was going on and was told that the camera would now be supplied at the end of September. I have no idea where the camera that had been waiting for the courier had gone. Maybe it was never there. They are always very polite when dealing with you but I have no idea whether I am dealing with a 10 year old in his Hong Kong bedroom or a company that doesn't know what it is doing. Advice - if you want you electronics simply go elsewhere. if you want electronics in a complicated manner then use a credit card!
I note that someone has been busily reporting the positive reviews on this website. I must say with hindsight many of them looked a little unlikely to me.
Update - and dropping to one star! - 3 days later - Yes as other people have experienced it is difficult to cancel. They seem to ignore the request and comeback with counter offers of things that I don't want. Maybe time to approach the credit card company?
A week later and no refund-the web site states it will be processes asap. In the UK asap means as soon as possible. A week is not asap.
Well I did get the refund eventually - this company needs to look at what it is doing - yes it is cheap BUT actually soon after getting the refund I got the camera at a better deal from a local shop - this is a non-grey import and paying all the taxes. The hassle of dealing with them is not worth the few quid you save.

You never know what you're going to pay!

I For my current order a price of £23.88 was agreed with free delivery Once I went to the payment site and enter all details the price has increased to £35.83 (delivery is indicated as free).
I tried placing the order 3 times with the same result.
I contacted customer care who did not respond to the points I raised just some general info. I went back to my account and the total was now £67. This is just 5 hours later.
I have kept the web downloads that prove what I am saying and will be happy to send them to someone in the company that does not ignore them like the customer care team appears to do (ORIGINAL RATING 2)
