Absolutely awful service. Ordered a new washing machine from them online, including £40 installation charge and removal of old appliance. When I checked with them the day before delivery they said that the day I had selected was only a "preferred date" and that it was not guaranteed. When I complained they eventually begrudgingly agreed to deliver when I had requested (as my fiancee had taken a day off work to be in for the delivery.)
When they arrived with the new machine, the delivery company had no record that they were installing the machine or taking the old machine and refused point blank to do it, just leaving the machine uninstalled. When we eventually got hold of Hughes Direct's call centre, the delivery team had left our property. Hughes accepted that they had messed it up and put it down to an "IT error"(even though the invoice that I had been sent clearly states that they would install the machine and take the old one away (and of course they had charged me for it.)
The attitude of the call centre staff was generally unhelpful and obstructive, despite the fact that they had quite clearly messed up. They only agreed to refund the delivery charge and did not offer any form of compensation for their error.
Will never use again and will make sure that friends and family don't either.
