took our money and never delivered

We paid over £1000 for rattan furniture from Corban Direct--and waited in all one day for the delivery--to no avail. They never called to apologise, or to tell us that they had supply problems--and I don't know how long they'd have held onto our money had we not complained.

NOT a good experience. NOT a trustworthy company.

Terrible. Look elsewhere for decent service.

I ordered a racquet, with which I hardly played during one day before deciding that it lacked sufficient power. I contacted Tennisnuts and got a sympathetic response from one of their public relations people, suggesting that a refund was possible. However, I then received a note from another rep. suggesting that it would 'cost £30' to repair the grip (hang on, we all know how much a new grip costs, right?--perhaps £3?) and about the same to repair damage to the frame (I'm a middle-aged woman, playing in the most advanced class in the Bromley Tennis Centre, playing doubles, and not in the habit of damaging frames!!) In other words, their (second) representative decided, living at my postcode, that I could afford to pay over £60 for, um, nothing.

Have heard nothing since. Customer service? What customer service? My advice is to steer well clear of this lot.

Dear Mrs Mcveigh,
I have looked into your case carefully and also examined the racket. I think the situation was not explained to you properly.
We do not normally get involved in accepting used rackets back. In your case you asked us to help you out, so our customer services representative showed the racket to a senior colleague whose view was that the racket could not be re-sold "as new", so would have to be reconditioned and sold as an "ex-demo".
In order to replace the bumper guard, you have to re-string the racket, hence the total cost of £30 for bumper, strings and new grip.
The other £30 was the approx loss we would have to take on selling the racket as an "ex-demo" (in our store), due to the scuff marks on the side of the frame. The chances are we would never sell this racket even at a £30 loss and would have to get rid of it at sale time at a huge loss.
