I looked at summer holidays booking on 31st January 2013. Travel Republic website had a special offer "to pay £ 1 deposit" for my hotel of choice in Turkey. I paid £1 deposit using my visa debit card. I also put me e mail address and other contact details.
I have not received a cofirmation of my booking or reference number so i could not follow it on the website.
I continued to receive e mails with advertising from Travel republic on my e mail address however i had no confirmation of initial booking nor any further correspondence regarding my holiday.
I poceeded to book with other company which offered much better price for the same hotel at the same time.
After i came back from my holiday I found that £1183 was withdrawn from my account by Travel Republic on the 7th May.
I have not received any communication from the company confirming the booking or any receipt of the payment.
I contacted the company today, on the 12th June. As i did not have a booking reference my booking was found with my current e mail address. I received not explanation to the reason of miscommunication.
I tried to talk to the custurmer serice - which did not offer me any information or explanation to what had happen but advised to fill in the on line form! It appears that all communication with this complany is one-way - they extracted data from me and abused it!
Please be aware of this trap and do not fall in it just as i did!
