booked an holiday in the AURAMAR BEACH RESORT HOTEL in albufeira ,Portugal in august 2012,for june 2013,two weeks ago I found out that there was a health problem at the hotel.i contacted travel republic they appeared to be unaware of the problem ,even though this had been going on since march 2013, iasked to cancel due to the fact I was traveling with my 22week pregnant daughter,a 4 year old child and a 7 month old baby,they told me I would not get a refund due to the short period of time before my departure,i then asked for a holiday transfer to another country because there are no other hotels in albufeia that could accomadate our needs available.i asked to go to Cyprus because I found a hotel at the same price we had payed.we where then told it would cost us an extra £400 for airfares plus any other transfer charges.which I declined,due to the extra cost, we are now stuck with a holiday in an hotel with an ongoing health issue, the staff I have spoken to at holiday republic have been very sympathetic but unable to help us.i think we should at least have been warned about the problem since it has been going on so long.my son was booked into the same hotel but with another travel firm,he was told about the problem by the company at the same time I contacted travelrepublic,and he was offered a holiday transfer ,he chose Cyprus and was immediately at a cost of £60.so its a well done to cosmos,i will not be booking with travelrepublic nor will I recommend them to anyone else,i can only hope that our holiday is ok and we have no problems,please read the reviews on tripadvisor . aw
