a good idea in theory but ultimately reviews are not impartial

Big companies are much better at boosting their scores by mass emailing certain customers or by paying trustpilot to help them boost their score

It's great to hear you think our site is a good idea, and I'm sorry to hear you think the reviews are not impartial.

Making sure that consumers can trust the reviews they read is our no 1. priority. As a result we dedicate a lot of resources to this area.

You're right that some companies sign up and pay for our premium services, but this does not mean we handle their reviews any differently to a company using our product for free. Any company - regardless of its size - can claim a company profile for free. That allows them to respond to reviews and report reviews that violates our guidelines among other features.

Companies paying for our premium services get access to more options. Among the most used is the Automatic Feedback Service that companies use to send out email invitations to their most recent customers x days after they completed an order. Companies must invite all their customers or none of them when they have access to this service. This helps us make sure we obtain a balanced level of feedback about the company.

Next Day Delivery is massively overpriced and is a Scam.

The delivery charge for next day is an extortionate £19. Working in E-commerce myself, I know that this is massively overpriced. The package appears to have traveled from Amsterdam to Heathrow, from Heathrow to Gatwick. When it reached Gatwick the jokers delivering the package seemed to realise that this was the 'incorrect facility'. Great... so no idea when/if this is going to reach me. Vision direct will probably try and pass the buck to DHL, but that's no excuse. I paid Vision Direct for next day delivery - you need to deliver on that service or refund me immediately, not wait for me to get in touch demanding a refund.

In short, I have been scammed for £19.00

Super Clear Communication, Great PC, Happy Customer

Overall, experience with PC-Specialist was very positive. THey emailed me the status of my order, let me know where it was in the chain of delivery, and delivered in pretty much the exact time they said they would, which is all you can ask for. A couple of minor gripes: after I ordered, I couldn't easily find out how to expedite the order (if I was that bothered, I could probably have phoned and got it sorted) and secondly (and more importantly really), when I needed to reset my password, they just emailed me a new password, which is very bad practice as it strongly suggests that their passwords are not secure. They shouldn't really ever know someones password far less be emailing passwords out in plain text: don't reuse password for important accounts on PC Specialist.

Those are pretty minor gripes though: they delivered a great product, on time with excellent communication along the way. Its also worth saying that the price I paid was wildly lower than I had expected to have to pay for a laptop of this quality.
