Last August we placed an order for a very expensive dining table and chairs. The delivery schedule went to plan in November but one of the carver chairs was damaged, one of the arms was broken. We agreed to hold on to the broken chair until the replacement one arrived as we needed the chair for Christmas and delivery of replacement could not be effected until January. At the same time, we placed an order for a further 2 dining chairs. The replacement chair arrived 28th January and we queried the non-delivery of the other items and were told that this was the subject of a separate order and would be arriving by the middle of February.
No contact from the store, I chased the order at the end of February and was assured that the order was in hand. I chased again (still no word from the store) and was told that the salesperson would chase the supplier and advise accordingly. One week later I chased again,(still no word from the store) this time to be told that the order had not in fact been received by the supplier and that a fresh order has now got to be raised. Delivery now anticipated in mid April. Totally unacceptable and if I had not continually chased, no action would have taken place. In fact, no action HAS taken place until today.
Furniture Village very quick to take the whole of the order amount but then very keen to relinquish all responsibility with regard to following through with anything resembling customer service. Very dissatisfied and following an earlier telephone conversation today, am still awaiting a return telephone call which was promised within 10 minutes. Time appears to have no meaning to Furniture Village, and the lack of respect shown to us as their customer is quite frankly appalling.
ordered door handles on line, unseen, purely by description. The product arrived in perfect condition, within days of order, I knew exactly when the order was due and could track its progress. Delighted with the quality. Will use this company again.
