Visited Marlows to buy a new wedding ring as mine had been damaged and needed to be replaced. We bought my engagement ring here back in 2005. We had such a positive experience back then that we knew straight away we wanted to come back here to make such an important second purchase, even though we live two hours away. (The damaged ring was not bought from Marlows - perhaps it would have survived longer if it had been! You live and learn.). We were greeted by Alison on arrival who was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable straight away. We explained that we wanted some guidance on what would work well with my existing engagement ring. Alison gave us a small selection of rings to try, explaining about each one and why they would be suitable. She didn't try to lead us to a particular one, we didn't feel pressured, and she gave us the time we needed to decide. It didn't take long as one stood out for us quite quickly. She clearly had a good eye! It only took a couple of hours to have the sizing done in the workshop so we were able to go for a nice lunch while we waited, making the whole shopping experience very pleasant. It was a hot day so I was nervous about getting the ring sizing right as your fingers can swell quite a lot in those conditions. I was given advice on the size I should go for and reassured that if there was a problem I could come back so I felt happier after that. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend going here for any special purchases as you will receive a personal service and get advice you can trust.
