I have used Interparcel on several occasions and whilst they have made successful deliveries the collection service is POOR. The incident today will be the last time I shall use the company.
I booked a collection for 1200hrs-1530hrs and this was not honoured. I had an urgent overnight parcel to ship and also a personal appointment at 1700hrs. According to the courier, collection should be made at the very latest before 1700hrs and this was also not honoured. I waited until 1720hrs before I contacted them again (as requested by the Interparcel support staff) which resulted in me waiting at home ALL AFTERNOON.
After I waited for the online chat to respond (as the phone line is not available after 1700hrs), I was then told the courier would be with me before 7pm.
At this point I cancelled the courier.
In addition to this, the first time I called to discuss with Interparcel staff the employee not only typed in the incorrect reference number to discuss my case but also HUNG UP on me.
The second time I called, the staff member was polite and did what they could to contact the courier but they still did not arrive by 1700hrs as promised.
1. I wasted an afternoon waiting for the collection
2. Missed a personal engagement
3. Incurred £15 personal costs due cancelling a personal appointment
4. Not able to complete the 24 hour delivery of the item I was looking to ship
This is not the first time the collection service has not honoured the company's promise, however, this is the first time I have been personally affected and any trust I have in the company is now depleted.
