Ordered an item online with delivery to my local store, however, I was unable to collect the item within the 2 week time frame. I called and asked if the store could just hold onto it for a further 2 days until I could manage to collect it (bearing in mind, this is an item I had already PAID for) but they said no. It would be returned to the warehouse and the order would be cancelled.
Every little helps ....... but not in this case!!!!!
This is the third parcel I have now recevied from DPD.
How absolutely refreshing it is to have a courier service that texts me to let me know the delivery day, then gives me a one hour delivery slot estimation, and if that wasn't enough, texts me a link to show me where my driver is and what time he is expected to reach me ....AND he arrives on TIME, exactly when I thought he would.
How much more perfect can you get........there are a lot of companies out there who could do with taking a leaf out of your book DPD. Thank you. Thank you.
We moved to British Gas towards the end of 2012 with a sceptical opinion of the company and their prices. We have dual fuel (gas and electricity) and our bills have gone down quite a bit. We've found it easy to register for online billing and we submit our meter readings by text message. Recently they sent us a smart meter which hooks up to the electricity meter and tells us how much electricity we use at any time of the day and how much we are paying. It works....the kids are now switching the lights off, etc, in order to see the smiley face on the meter! This was a free service. Cannot recommend them highly enough and wanted to say so because it isn't often where I have come across such excellent customer service from an energy company before now.
Joined vodafone on a mobile contract in August 2009 and had nothing but trouble with them. Just switched to T-Mobile now and it was a very wise move.
Problems with Vodafone included: they just could not understand that I got married and changed my surname, they finally got it and then changed it back again! I changed my address with them but then they got my account confused with my mother's account - to get that sorted out was horrendous. I was due a refund - they paid it to my mother in error. It takes so long to get to speak with somebody and when I finally got through, it would be to somebody who was unable to grasp my problem so would then transfer me to sombody in England where I had to explain it all again. One morning, I spent 2 hours trying to resolve an issue with them - just as I thought I had cracked it, they cut me off and I had to go through the whole procedure again.
I've tried to sign up to online billing for over 2 years now - guess what - I'm still waiting. Now I don't even receive a paper bill, despite asking SEVERAL times. I just get a reminder to say I haven't paid my bill EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN'T RECEIVED a bill to pay it in the first place.
It all became just too much so I changed supplier and it was the best thing I ever did - no more stress, no hassle. Just friendly, straight forward great customer service. I paid an early termination fee to get away from Vodafone, it was worth every penny.

We ordered a bunk bed for our girls. Not only were we disappointed with the quality (and believe you me, we certainly didn't pay a "low quality" price for it) there was an issue with one of the parts (this was after we had spent around 2 hours trying to build it!). It took ages to speak with somebody about it and they just said that they would come and collect the bed and couldn't offer a replacement. We had to dismantle and repack, what a waste of time.
We also ordered some children's bedroom furniture (wardrobe and drawers). I thought that by paying a little more than the high street, that we would be receiving higher quality products but that isn't the case. Six months later, they are falling to bits. They are really bad quality.
What Very do is overcharge people who do not have the money there and then to pay for the things they need. Their interest rates are daylight robbery. If you can, just put the money aside every month and go to the highstreet. Stay clear of these cowboys who must love it when vulnerable people come along and want to pay £130 for something they can get on the highstreet for £49. Be wary please.
Ordered several books online for my children. Great prices - a lot cheaper than Amazon in fact. Even qualified for free delivery which is always a bonus. My only complaint is that the delivery took ages, nearly two weeks. They used Yodel - when the delivery driver realised there was nobody in, he just left the parcel in the front garden - not very secure at all.
The kids were over the moon with the books and will definitely order from the Book People again.
I had not heard of this company before but was looking for a huge canvas print of my children and I saw something online advertising a great price.
The uploading process was really easy, no trouble at all. Turnaround was something like a week but the canvas arrived a day before it was scheduled to. This company use Yodel for deliveries and there was some confusion regarding delivery cards and drivers, etc but I've had that before with Yodel.
I was worried in case the size of the canvas meant that I lost out on picture quality but we were all so pleased when it arrived. It is excellent and looks fantastic up on the wall. The quality of materials seems very good.
If I could suggest anything at all to improve the service it would be that the canvas arrive with a little kit for hanging it onto the wall. However, we had already bought one of these in preparation so no bother really. Wouldn't have minded paying a couple of quid extra for the picture to come with the proper bits for putting it onto the wall though.
Overall, we could not recommend this company highly enough. Job well done indeed and we will definitely use them again. Thank you Orbit.
I've had several experiences of receiving parcels from Yodel now and not one of them is positive.
My latest experience was receiving a delivery card for a parcel when I was out. I called the automated service and arranged that I would collect the parcel from the depot. I had to wait 48 hours. The next day, another driver arrived with a parcel. I showed him the card and asked him if this was the same parcel as the one which had an attempted delivery the day before. He said not. Ok.
The next day, I called the Depot to double check and the automated service told me that I could still collect my parcel from the Depot. I went really out of my way and queued in masses of traffic to get there, only to be told that the card DID relate to the parcel already delivered. I was fuming!
Another experience was where their delivery driver just left a parcel in the front garden, not in a secure place at all. Anybody could see it.
They must be offering a good price for their delivery service because a few companies are using them now but it is coming at a cost. Unless they sort their act out and start putting the customer first, the customers will stop purchasing from the companies who use YODEL for deliveries. I know I will certainly think twice about it.
