My wife and I purchased a few items from Oakfurnitureland after moving into our new home. We purchased an extending dining table and 8 leather back chairs, two of the chairs where damaged as the leather was pushed in, followed their process for returns and returned, waited for the new chairs, which again where damaged , again returned and then asked them to quarantine the items and finally after wasting my time,wrapping,then unwrapping and taking pictures and returning, finally they got it right.
That was only the beginning, the next items were a french farmhouse chest of drawers and triple wardrobe, found woodworm in the chest of drawers,returned no problems, got a replacement. Then came the most frustrating and annoying 2 months dealing with them. The wardrobe was warped at the top and had scratches and chips, contacted them, after some persuasion ,I agreed to a technicians visit, because I didn't want to re-pack all the heavy pieces back into the boxes. Technician came about two weeks later, fixed the scratches(still visible, just covered with hard wax) but told me he can't do anything about the warp. Contacted them again after a frustrating 20 minute conversation they told me that I need to have another technicians visit, and came to an agreement with the customer advisor that if it can't be repaired, he will replace the 2 door part of the wardrobe and had it in stock, 2nd visit, same technicain, same result. Contacted them to ask to speak to the same advisor, spoke to his manager, who told me the advisor was not authorised to make any decisions regarding dispatching new items and I spoke to him, he told me that he will not dispatch any new items, I tried to reason with him but to no avail ,my frustration went into overdrive, waiting for over 3 months after purchasing this item to actually use it, and my only option is to return the entire wardrobe and get a refund which involves me dismantling the heavy pieces when all I was asking for was to replace the damaged part. It's unbelievable that a company would rather lose a customer and a sale than replace the item, just shows you what CUSTOMER SERVICE means to them. They also belong to the furniture ombudsman who I'll be contacting shortly.
I would stay well clear of this company if you value your money and to think I was going to spend more money in this store to buy my living room furniture.
