customer service is a joke

ordered a mattress from very have only had it for six months and can feel the springs digging in when you lie on it. Called very about it they said would send someone out to look at it but if it wasn't a manufacturers fault they would charge me £45 i said at the time i didn't agree but they wouldn't send anyone out until i did. So has i honestly thought there must be a problem with the mattress i relunctently agreed, the man came and advised me that there wasnt a fault that is just how that particular mattress goes but did agree that very shouldn't be charging me as i had a valid reason for wanting it looked at. He advised buying a mattress topper. I think its disgusting that the mattress is only six months old and it not fit for purpose and now have got to go and buy a topper just so it can be slept on. Very, however, are still going to charge me even though i have said how do i know if it is a manufacturing fault unless i have it looked at. I have spoken to their customer service but they are about as helpful as a chocolate fireguard. I for one will never be dealing with them again and would advise others to be very careful about what they order.
