Hotels are responsible for upholding their agreement with Agoda. When Agoda gets a payment from you, it is honoring your request. The problem is that hotels let Agoda down, Agoda books a number of rooms in advance, which gives them better pricing compared to the hotel's actual pricing. This gives the hotel stability in forecasting its sales numbers, sacrificing a portion of its profits to be financially stable. Agoda is not responsible for the hotel's misconduct, the hotel is. The best thing to do is make a huge scene at the hotel to help them learn not to overbook. I would never recommend people to complain or make a scene, but if this were to happen to me, I'm gonna scream and shout, and let it all out!
