Okay so, I ordered a top from a website and find that the delivery company is DPD. No qualms about that til my boyfriend told me you were quite unreliable. I then find this website and I panicked. So knowing full well I wouldn't be in all day on the 5th of July, I changed the delivery to the 9th and took a day off. Fine. I had an email confirmation that the date had been changed. Fine. I went to bed that night still a little worried from all the reviews here. Anyway...
08.41 Sat 6th of July. I was still in bed as I was waking up at 9 ready to start work at 11. Buzzer at my flat wakes me up. My exact thoughts were "who the hell is that at this time?" I answer the buzzer. It was my parcel. I went downstairs bleary eyed to the main door, that opens onto the street, and signed for it. The guy, can't remember his name, was really nice and that was fine.
Don't get me wrong I'm extremely grateful that my parcel arrived. However, my concern is, my mobile was off so I didn't get the text about delivery. I could have been a deep sleeper, not answered the door and then my parcel would be gone. It may have arrived later in the day when I was at work (hence why I obviously specifically took a day off to sign for the parcel). I live alone and I don't even know my neighbours as I'm newish here and the ones I did know have left. It was extremely embarrassing for me to open the door in the state I was in.
The big one next... Why deliver a parcel 3 days earlier than I'd asked for? Why have the option to change the date when it was going to be ignored? The label on my parcel says in writing ... Deliver : 9/07/13.
So I now have a wasted day. Seriously, please get your act together.
